"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
.

Picture
We are a small team that is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to succeed in life. “As iron sharpens iron” we also believe people progress when life is experienced together.

We use martial arts as a tool because it has a unique way of connecting with young people and creating a stage for broader and deeper work with them.  When it is coupled with caring role models and our leadership classes, we have a foundation for success.

My own passion comes from the fact, that after traveling and working in South Korea, I wanted to return to the community that shaped me into the person I am today.  We have achieved success because of great people surrounding us and want to give that same opportunity to the young people we meet. Ironworks  Taekwondo Academy comes from this desire.

Ages 13 & Up
Cost: Donations Only!

Session #1 (July 25 & 27)
Get the basics and learn practical, "fight smart" techniques that allow you to stop an attack and provide an escape.  Techniques in this session focus on defending against chokes, attacks from behind, and wrist grabs.  Participants can expect to learn about principles of prevention and how to avoid being attacked.  This is not a prerequisite for session #2 but will be helpful in mental and technical preparation.

Session #2 (July 30 & Aug 01)
While the previous session focuses on avoiding conflict, this session is about confronting attackers with appropriate force.  Several scenarios are addressed like: being attacked on the ground or from behind, with weapons, and multiple assailants.  The disciplines of judo, jiujitsu, and krav maga are integrated into each situation.

Visit our contact page to register and list the name and age of those attending.  Space is limited to 30 each session.

Raising Funds

Picture
Our school has grown so much in the last year, and with the growth of more classes and activities come added expenses.  Nearly all students who attend ITA receive some form of financial aid to attend classes and travel to tournaments.  We want to continue providing a program of excellence but need the help of donors to do so.  Without your help we are unable to offer a much needed service to our community or expand our program.

We are so grateful we pray to a God who is completely sovereign over all creation and He answers our prayers.  Praise the Lord who has made known to us where He is working!

Current needs:
